Saints Extended Qualifying Offers to 13 Players

SAINTS TENDER QUALIFYING OFFERS TO 13 RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Thursday that the club has tendered qualifying offers to 13 players slated to become restricted free agents at the start of the new league year next week. Terms of the offers were not disclosed. Defensive linemen Remi Ayodele and Anthony Hargrove , offensive tackles Jammal Brown , Jermon Bushrod and Zach Strief , safeties Roman Harper , Chris Reis and Usama Young , linebacker Marvin Mitchell , wide receivers Lance Moore and Courtney Roby , tight end David Thomas and running back Pierre Thomas are the 13 players who have received offers from the team.

OCHSNER HOSPITAL VISIT  – 09.08.09 Patients at Ochsner Hospital were surprised with a visit by Saints players this morning. On their first designated “Saints Community Day” of the regular season, Wide Receiver Lance Moore , Safety Chris Reis , Safety Usama Young , and Tackle Zach Strief spent almost an hour and a half with the patients in both the pediatric and chemotherapy wards, leaving them all with autographed Saints yearbooks and Saints decals

Payton Addresses CB Tracy Porter’s Injury

New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton stated late Monday morning during his regularly scheduled Monday press conference that starting cornerback Tracy Porter sprained his left medial collateral ligament in Sunday’s victory over the St. Louis Rams. Payton refrained from putting a timetable on Porter’s return, but said that he expects the second-year cornerback out of Indiana University to return to the lineup again this season.
